Congressman Andy Kim Endorses

Sue Altman for Congress in NJ-07

MOORESTOWN N.J. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (D-NJ) announced his endorsement of Sue Altman for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District as she looks to take on Congressman Tom Kean Jr. this year as the newest member of DCCC’s ‘Red-to-Blue’ program.

“Sue isn’t just the best candidate to win in November, she’s the best person to give real representation to the working families of the 7th Congressional District,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “Sue has taken on special interests, she’s taken on unfair and undemocratic systems in our own politics, and she’s taken on the issues that people across our state deal with everyday. I look forward to working closely with Sue to fire up the vote across Morris, Hunterdon, Warren, Somerset, Sussex, and Union Counties, and doing everything I can to make sure she’s the next member of Congress from New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.”

“I am incredibly proud to have Andy Kim’s endorsement. For too long our political institutions have protected self-serving politicians and corrupt political bosses at the expense of New Jerseyans, while Andy exemplifies the best of public service,” said Congressional candidate Sue Altman. “Andy and I got into this fight to put people first, and right now that work includes strengthening our democracy, lowering costs for working people, protecting our reproductive rights, and bringing the fight against corruption from Trenton to Washington. I look forward to working with him on the campaign trail this year, and in Washington beyond.”

First elected to Congress in 2018 at the age of 36, three-term Congressman Andy Kim is one of the younger members to serve in Congress and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. If elected to the Senate, Andy would be the 4th youngest Senator, the first Korean American elected to the Senate, and the first Asian American elected to the Senate from the entire east coast of America. In 2018 and 2020, Andy defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, and in 2022 Kim defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points.

In his three terms in Congress, Andy has worked hard to lower costs for New Jersey families and help support small businesses through challenging times. Andy has also been a leading champion in fighting against corruption in our broken politics.
