Congressman Andy Kim to Highlight Veteran Stories at Town Hall

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Andy Kim will hold a town hall meeting in Toms River on Monday, November 11th at 5:00pm. The town hall will feature veterans from across New Jersey’s Third Congressional District who will share stories of their service.

Those in attendance will hear from veterans of World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Local veterans are also encouraged to attend to tell their stories.

“Our town halls are my chance to hear from you on what’s important, and as we approach Veterans Day, hearing from veterans in Ocean and Burlington Counties is one of the most important things we can do,” said Congressman Kim. “Our Congressional District has more veterans than any other in New Jersey, and I’m proud to lift their voices up and give them a forum to be heard.”

Congressman Kim has been a vocal proponent for a new veterans’ health care facility in Ocean County, and has introduced bipartisan legislation to protect veterans from VA errors and help veterans identify employment opportunities during their transition to civilian life. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, he’s led efforts to strengthen resiliency programs at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, strengthen economic opportunities for military spouses, and require the Department of Defense to the end use of harmful PFAS chemicals.

This will be the fourteenth town hall held by Congressman Kim during the 116th Congress, and part of a monthly series to allow the Congressman to hear directly from constituents throughout New Jersey’s Third District.
