Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) endorses Emma Mammano, Tony Kono, and Sharon Quilter, LD10 Candidates for State Senate & Assembly
Brick, NJ — Candidates for New Jersey’s 10th legislative district Emma Mammano (Senate) &
Tony Kono and Sharon Quilter (Assembly) have received the endorsement of Andy Kim,
recently re-elected Congressman for New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District.
About this key endorsement, Mammano stated, “We are excited to receive a formal
endorsement from Andy Kim, whose humanity and passionate service in Congress exemplify
what it means to serve as a representative by and for the People in our democracy.”
“He has truly been a bright light for our district during a first term marked by unprecedented
national upheaval and divisiveness. As candidates, we hope to emulate the dedication he
brings to his role as a public servant,” Kono added.
“The transparency and accountability Mr. Kim has made a hallmark in his service to our nation
is something to which all representatives should aspire,” Quilter stated. “We promise to live up
to these expectations and look forward to collaborating with Andy Kim in the future to meet the
needs of our district.”
At a recent fundraiser hosted by the LD10 Democratic team, Congressman Kim noted that
candidates must possess empathy, passion, and open-mindedness as the basis for being
voted into office. He stated his belief in candidates Mammano, Quilter, and Kono as having
these qualities in abundance.
They also share his concerns to address key issues such as Coronavirus Relief and Recovery,
Education, Energy/ Environment, Infrastructure, Disaster Mitigation, Healthcare, and LGBTQ+

Mammano, Kono, and Quilter are running as Democrats in Legislative District 10,
encompassing Brick, Toms River, and other shore towns – townships which also are
represented by Andy Kim in Congress. New Jersey’s third Congressional District was held by
Republicans Jon Runyan and Tom MacArthur since 2010 before Kim won his first term in 2018
by roughly 4,000 votes.
