Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) Sworn into 117th Congress
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, January 3, 2021, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), Co-Chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, was sworn into his third term as the representative from New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District. Gottheimer took the oath-of-office today on the House floor.
“As part of my oath I just took, I swore to support and defend the Constitution — a heavy responsibility I endeavor to uphold every hour of every day. At its base, it’s about protecting our fundamental freedoms: from speech to religion, to safeguarding our democracy and the values we all hold dear,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) today. “I also swore to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic, to protect our state and community, and to fight for the people I represent: from lowering health care costs, to keeping our air and water clean and fixing our roads and bridges, to reinstating SALT and lowering taxes, to standing by our veterans and seniors, to ensuring our communities are safe for our families and children, to securing COVID-19 relief for our residents, small businesses, and communities, and to fighting terror at home and abroad.”
