Congressman Kim Announces 2021
Congressional Art Competition
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced his office is taking virtual submissions for the 2021 Congressional Art Competition, which gives high school students across Burlington and Ocean Counties an opportunity for their artwork to be featured in Washington, DC in the halls of the U.S. Capitol. Students will have until April 18th to submit artwork to Congressman Kim’s office. Judging will be held from April 19th to April 26th and a winner will be announced on May 7th.
“The Congressional Art Competition is a chance to bring the incredible talent we have here in Burlington and Ocean Counties to our Capitol building,” said Congressman Kim. “I know it’s been a tough year for so many, but as we continue to make progress against COVID-19, I’m hopefully that our neighbors across New Jersey and the country will be able to visit the Capitol soon to see the winning artwork on display.”
The Congressional Art Competition is held each spring and is sponsored by the members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The competition is open to all high school students and the winning artwork is displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will include the winning artwork from all participating districts from around the country. The winning artwork is also featured on the House of Representatives’ Congressional Art Competition page.
Previous Congressional Art Competition winners from New Jersey’s Third Congressional District include Kaeleigh Mackiewicz, a former student of Cinnaminson High School in Cinnaminson, NJ, and Ariel Etzel, a former student of Point Pleasant Borough High School in Point Pleasant, NJ.
