Congressman Kim to Hold Town Hall on Reopening Plans Ahead of Beginning of Summer

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced that he will be holding a telephone town hall on Tuesday, May 18th at 7:30pm to discuss New Jersey’s reopening ahead of the busy Memorial Day holiday and efforts in Congress to support our efforts to return to normal.

Residents of Burlington and Ocean Counties can sign up for the telephone town halls on the Congressman’s website by clicking here.

Congressman Kim will be joined by Sandra Lazzaro, Director of Business Development and Tourism for Ocean County who will talk about how Ocean County is reopening and what it means for visitors to the Shore.

“Memorial Day weekend is always important in New Jersey, but as we begin to emerge from this pandemic, it’s more important than ever,” said Congressman Kim. “Our businesses down the shore are a big economic driver for our neighbors in Ocean County, and I want to thank Sandra Lazzaro for joining to answer questions and to remind everyone that our Shore towns are open for business.”

The town hall comes one day before New Jersey will implement a complete removal of outdoor gathering limits, increase indoor gathering limits, and take other steps to return the state to a pre-pandemic normal. The town hall also comes in the wake of funds being delivered from the Paycheck Protection Program and the Restaurant Revitalization Fund – both programs championed by Congressman Kim – which have helped small businesses keep employees on payroll and their doors open.

“These are optimistic times,” continued Congressman Kim. “We’re seeing more and more people vaccinated and getting back to work. We still have a lot of work to do to get back to the normal we remember, and I look forward to hearing from people across Burlington and Ocean County on how we achieve that goal.”

Congressman Kim is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Committee on Small Business. More information about Congressman Kim can be found on his website by clicking here.
