ALLENTOWN, N.J. — Last Friday, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) held his first town hall of the new year and new Congress to hear from neighbors on issues that are important to them and share updates from the start of the 118th Congress.
At Newell Elementary School in Allentown Congressman Kim hosted his 59th town hall. Allentown was recently added to New Jersey’s 3rd District after the 2020 Census congressional redistricting. Congressman Kim enjoyed speaking with community members from across the district in Burlington, Mercer, and Monmouth Counties.
During the Town Hall, Congressman Kim spoke about the Inflation Reduction Act’s successes in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, his support for paid parental leave, and his initiatives to restore trust in our democracy through banning Members of Congress from owning stocks. He also responded to questions on prioritizing military personnel and shared his efforts to expand veterans and servicemembers’ access to affordable and comprehensive healthcare.
Congressman Kim previously served on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Committee on Small Business. Formal committee assignments are still being finalized for the 118th Congress.
