STATEMENT SUPPORTING CONGRESSWOMAN LAMONICA MCIVER

Newark, NJ – May 16, 2025 – South Ward Councilman/Democratic Chairman Patrick Council stands in full support of our congressional leader, Lamonica McIver. I am disheartened at the attempts of the federal administration to lie and discredit our congresswoman, who has a right to stand and fight for the district that she serves. This blatant attempt to shame the City of Newark as well as the 10th Congressional District must be a cry for all to rally together for what is right and just. In the same manner that we stand with Mayor Ras Baraka, we stand with Congresswoman McIver around this charade of injustice.
