CRYAN PRAISES SECRETARY OF STATE FOR ACTION ON McCORMICK PETITION

CRYAN PRAISES SECRETARY OF STATE FOR ACTION ON McCORMICK PETITION AND CALLS FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL INVESTIGATION

UNION – Senator Joseph Cryan today praised New Jersey Secretary of State Tahesha Way for referring Lisa McCormick’s petition to the Attorney General’s office for investigation and called on the Attorney General’s office to act swiftly.  McCormick was recently thrown off the ballot after a judge ruled she submitted a petition to be a candidate for governor that had zero valid signatures.

“Lisa McCormick and James Devine have repeatedly shown they have no concern for the law.

Secretary Way’s decision to refer McCormick’s petition to the Attorney General’s office is a great first step and I’d like to thank her and her office for standing up for New Jersey voters today.

It is my great hope that the Attorney General’s office will exhibit that same concern and immediately open an investigation into McCormick and Devine.  Today.”
