CUMBERLAND GOP: DERELLA IN HIDING ON CCUA PRIVATIZATION KERFUFFLE

DERELLA IN HIDING ON CCUA PRIVATIZATION KERFUFFLE

GOP Candidates Call Out “Search & Rescue”

(VINELAND, NJ) – GOP commissioner candidates Joe Sileo and Tony Romero today called on the public to begin a “search and rescue” mission to find Commissioner Joe Derella who is in hiding over the Cumberland County Utilities Authority (CCUA) privatization kerfuffle, fearing that he may actually have to take a position on the issue.

“Joe Derella is afraid to face the CCUA privatization issue,” said Joe Sileo. “Instead, he has resorted to hiding, from the issue and the voters. Deplorable!”

Since late spring, the CCUA Board has been weighing whether or not to privatize the county authority, a decision that would result in layoffs and dramatic rate increases.

Derella supports the plan and has been privately meeting with CCUA board members.

“On your next trip to Wawa or WalMart, keep an eye out for Derella,” said Tony Romero. “If you see him, ask why he’s refusing to take a public position on opposing the CCUA privatization-rate increase scheme before and after Election Day.”

Sileo and Romero have been steadfast in their opposition to Derella’s CCUA privatization-rate increase scheme since it was announced. Next week, they face Derella and his running mate on the Nov. 2 ballot.
