CWA ENDORSES ZWICKER FOR STATE SENATE IN LD-16

(TRENTON, NEW JERSEY)  The Communications Workers of America (CWA) enthusiastically endorses Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker for State Senate in New Jersey’s 16h Legislative District.

“CWA is thrilled that our friend Assemblyman Zwicker is ready to tackle this Senate race. He is exactly the right person for this time: a scientist who understands facts and data and uses that information to try to improve the lives of all of New Jersey’s residents” said Hetty Rosenstein, CWA NJ Area Director. “Andrew Zwicker is smart, he’s empathetic, and he’s a uniter – not a divider. We need more people like Zwicker in the Senate.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Communications Workers of America District One and its supporting local chapters,” said Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker.  “Every New Jerseyan deserves the opportunity to work in a safe environment with fair wages and benefits.  The challenges of the past year have brought to the forefront how essential our workforce is, and always has been, and I am proud to stand with our union brothers and sisters. Our working families have always been there for us, and I will fight for them earnestly and without fail.”

“Andrew Zwicker believes in investing in libraries, schools, colleges and universities, public healthcare – and in the people who provide those services,” said Kathy Hernandez, Executive Vice Presidents of CWA Local 1031. “Our members appreciate that Zwicker understands how important their work is.”

Andrew Zwicker has been a strong and consistent supporter of CWA and our issues,” said Michele Liebtag, CWA Local 1036. “Assemblyman Zwicker respects public sector workers and fights alongside our members for the important services we provide to NJ residents.  Andrew is an ally in the fight to preserve collective bargaining, because he knows that tough negotiations between unions and employers yield the best outcomes, with savings and fairness for all sides.  Union members and tax payers alike will continue to benefit from voices like Andrew Zwicker’s in the New Jersey Senate.”

CWA represents more than 70,000 working families in The Garden State – including 40,000 state workers, 15,000 county and municipal workers, and thousands of workers in the telecommunications, airlines, healthcare and direct care industries. Many of them live or work in New Jersey’s 16th Legislative District.

Primary Day is Tuesday, June 8th, 2021.
