DeGroot: Rep. Sherrill Benefits From Husband’s Relationship with Communist China
(Nov. 2, 2022) While Mikie Sherrill is on record saying China is a major threat America, that hasn’t stopped her and her husband from making money on the nation that is ruled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP),” says Republican Congressional candidate Paul DeGroot of Montville, NJ.
Sherrill’s husband is banker Jason Hedberg — UBS’s global head of equity derivatives sales — who has worked for the company since 2013. UBS – a Swiss bank, is one of seven global banks that control investment banking operations in mainland China. UBS, according to reports, routinely posts CCP economic propaganda on its website.
“Despite what Sherrill says about China being threat to America, she allowed UBS to handle mortgage lending on her $3 million home in Montclair, NJ. Her investment in UBS was substantial and only recently did she sell $600,000 worth of shares of UBS bank stock,” noted DeGroot.
“If Mikie Sherrill really believes Communist China is the major threat to the future of the U.S., she seems untroubled by her husband’s role in a bank with friendly ties to the CCP, “ says DeGroot.
“The Sherrill family is profiting from UBS’s support of communist China and yet neither Sherrill, the Democratic Party or the media seem concerned about the fact that a member of Congress, through her husband is bolstering China’s economic goals,” added DeGroot.
“This sounds very much like the relationship between Joe Biden, his son Hunter and Chinese businesses that the media and the Democratic Party are eager to sweep under the rug,” added DeGroot.
