Dems’ Faux “Tax Holiday” is a Pathetic Publicity Stunt

The New Jersey Statehouse and Capitol Building In Trenton
TRENTON – Today, Tom Szymanski, Executive Director of the New Jersey State Republican Committee (“NJGOP”) issued the following statement in response to Governor Phil Murphy, Senator Nick Scutari, Speaker Craig Coughlin and Senator Vin Gopal announcing a 2-week “sales tax holiday” in 2 months which applies only to school supplies: “Murphy, Scutari, Coughlin & Gopal have shown once again how pathetically out of touch they are with struggling New Jersey familes. Inflation is at a 40-year high, gas prices are a a record-high $5 dollars per gallon, and all the Democrats are offering you is $0.07 cents back on a glue stick. Perhaps they should reverse course on their decades’ worth of tax and spend policies that have given New Jersey the highest tax burden in the nation if they are actually concerned about helping New Jerseyans.” – Tom Szymanski
