DGA Press: Jacking Up Costs: Jack Ciattarelli Puts “10% Sales Tax on All Items” “On the Table” for New Jersey Families

Jack Ciattarelli is all in on jacking up costs for hardworking New Jersey families. In Ciattarelli’s own words, a “10% sales tax on everything. Including food and clothing,” is “on the table,” and he has repeatedly defended this punishing price hike, illustrating the lengths he is willing to go to make life worse for New Jersey families.

Ciattarelli has already supported Trump’s deeply unpopular budget that guts Medicaid, rips away food benefits from New Jersey kids, kills jobs, forces hospitals to close, and drives energy costs higher. His “10% sales tax” idea would only add to this disastrous agenda in Trenton.

“If Jack Ciattarelli is willing to put ‘a 10% sales tax on all items’ ‘on the table’, where will he draw the line when it comes to jacking up costs and making life more expensive for New Jerseyans?” said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. “At every turn, Jack continues to show New Jersey families that they simply cannot afford his toxic agenda in Trenton.”
