WASHINGTON – The Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association (DLGA) endorses Lt. Governor Tahesha Way in her congressional bid for NJ-11.

DLGA Chair and Delaware Lt. Governor Kyle-Evans Gay released the following statement:

“As Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State, Tahesha Way has led with integrity, steadiness, and a deep commitment to strengthening our democracy. She expanded access to the ballot, modernized election systems, and stood firm against Trump’s efforts to undermine the rights of New Jersey voters.”

“At the same time, Tahesha has shown an unwavering commitment to making life more affordable for the communities she serves. She knows firsthand what working families are up against, and she has dedicated her career to expanding opportunity and delivering results. That’s why the DLGA is proud to endorse her for Congress—we know she will bring her strength, experience, and compassion to Washington at a moment when the stakes could not be higher.”

With 31 states with lieutenant governors in 2026, and upcoming competitive Democratic primaries, the DLGA is seizing on the tremendous opportunity to invest and build up the next generation of Democratic Party leaders.
