Doherty Commends Robotics Club for Commitment to Build 10,000 PPE Face Shields

Collaborative Effort Between Warren Hills Regional HS, Special Technical Services, and Mt. Olive HS

Senator Michael Doherty praised the Warren Hills Robotics Association (WHRA) for their efforts to raise $20,000 to assemble 10,000 face shields for first responders.

“In this tumultuous time, ordinary people are stepping up to the plate to do extraordinary things,” said Doherty (R-23). “We need all hands on deck to beat this virus.

“WHRA’s proactive approach will help keep our medical personnel safe from COVID-19. To all donating and participating – thank you for your lifesaving endeavors.”

The materials for the masks have been ordered. They will be made by specifications from The Johns Hopkins Health System.

WHRA, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, has raised more than $6,000 out of their $20,000 to help fund this project. They are partnering with Warren Hills Regional High School, Special Technical Services (STS) in Hackettstown, and Mt. Olive High School.
