Durr: Thankful For Parents Voicing Their Concerns

Senator Ed Durr thanked parents for voicing their concerns and speaking up for their children during the public comment period at the New Jersey State Board of Education’s monthly meeting on Wednesday.

“I am thankful to see so many parents who care for their children’s education. As we know, active communication and partnership between parents and schools leads to a more successful educational experience for students. I’m also happy to see that the NJEA finally agrees that parents are schools most important partners; however, I take issue with their sentiment. There is nothing remotely political about elected officials and parents telling Governor Murphy and his activist administration to get out of the classroom.

Parents need less government involvement with their children’s education and more knowledge of what’s going on in the classroom. For this reason, the Legislature should return to Trenton to show parents that we stand with them and approve a parental rights notification bill.”
