ELEC Selects Sponsors for 2025 Gubernatorial General Election Debates

In a 4-0 vote, the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) chose sponsors for each of the three 2025 general election debates for candidates participating in the gubernatorial public financing program, as follows:

 New Jersey Globe/On New Jersey/Rider University to host the first gubernatorial debate at Rider University.

 PIX 11/WPIX TV/PHIL17/NJ1015.com/NewsNation.com/TheHill.com to host the debate between the two candidates for lieutenant governor at Kean University.

 WABC-TV New York/WPVI-TV Philadelphia/Rutgers Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy to host the second gubernatorial candidate debate at New Brunswick Performing Arts Center.

By statute, the debates can be held no earlier than September 16 and no later than October 24. Final details of the debates must be submitted to ELEC staff within five calendar days.
