EXECUTIVE WOMEN OF NEW JERSEY NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR GRADUATE MERIT AWARD PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP FOR NEW JERSEY WOMEN PURSUING ADVANCED DEGREES
Executive Women of New Jersey (EWNJ) has announced that they are now accepting applications for the 2022 EWNJ Graduate Merit Award Program. These scholarships are awarded to women who are non-traditional graduate students attending New Jersey colleges and universities. EWNJ defines ‘non-traditional’ as a student who returns to her studies several years after receiving an undergraduate degree; a student who may have completed her undergraduate degree at a later date; a student who changed careers and is returning to school to retool her career; or a student who comes from a non-traditional educational or socioeconomic background. The deadline for submission is July 30.
“Unfortunately, women continue to face barriers that make it difficult to have equal access to opportunities throughout their professional journey. That is why at EWNJ, we are committed to strengthening and fueling the professional pipeline with diverse future women leaders in our state,” shared Anna María Tejada, Esq., President of Executive Women of New Jersey and Partner at Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP. “Our Graduate Merit Award Program seeks to level the playing field and provide emerging women leaders with the resources and mentorship needed to overcome barriers and ascend to senior leadership roles, particularly in STEM fields.”
Since its inception, EWNJ’s unique Graduate Merit Award Program has provided over $1.4 million in tuition assistance.
“We understand that cost is one of the greatest obstacles for our Graduate Merit Award recipients, especially with the additional challenges brought on by a global pandemic. We take pride in being a financial lifeline for so many women who are looking to pursue an advanced degree,” shared Marianne DeAlessi, DNP, RN, Chair of the EWNJ Scholarship Committee and Lead Healthcare Consultant at DeAlessi Enterprises.
EWNJ Graduate Merit Awards are only provided to students who are pursuing advanced degrees at New Jersey universities or colleges. The average scholarship amount is $5,000. To apply, visit www.ewnj.org/scholarship.
