Felician University Announces New Finance Program

RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician University is proud to announce the approval of a new Bachelor of Science in Finance in the School of Business & Information Sciences. The Finance program will begin in Fall 2023.

Dr. Philip Rothman, who laid the groundwork for this new undergraduate degree, along with Dr. David Turi, and Dr. Karen Beerbower will serve as the full-time professors for the program. Dr. Rothman, who has 24 years of industry experience in Corporate Banking and Financial Risk Management, stated, “The curriculum was developed by faculty from the School of Business and Information Sciences to prepare students with the cutting-edge content knowledge and diverse skill set they will need to achieve professional success in the field of Finance. Students will learn the core competencies of financial literacy and management as well as the importance of critical reasoning, ethical decision-making, and teamwork.”

Coinciding with the launch of the Finance major is the construction of a new state-of-the-art Finance Lab which will contain 16 Bloomberg terminals providing faculty and students access to industry standard financial information systems, live market data, current news and events, and insight from leading experts in the field.

The Felician University Finance program prioritizes curriculum, courses, and related class activities that focus on the intersection of business and sustainability, social responsibility, strong corporate governance, and the fostering of ethical business professionals.
