Firefighters Endorse Benson

TRENTON – Today, the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (NJ FMBA) has declared their support for Dan Benson to be Mercer County’s next County Executive. The NJ FMBA is a labor union representing over 5000 career firefighters, EMTs, and dispatchers across the State of New Jersey.

“From his earliest days as a member of the Hamilton Township Council, Dan showed his commitment to public safety, and the men and women that provide it to that community,” Eddie Donnelly, President of the NJFMBA, said. “He took that commitment to Trenton and stood with us as we undertook a successful effort to reform our pension system and protect our retirement security. He never wavered during COVID, and continually showed he always had our backs.”

“As a state legislator he kept his local roots strong and provided key advice and support as Hamilton’s firefighters engaged the community to build a better, safer, and more efficient fire department. Despite the odds stacked against them, Hamilton FMBA Locals 84 and 284 were successful, and Dan was there every challenging step of the way.

“Dan provides the kind of strong voice and leadership Mercer County needs now, and we are proud to provide him with our full endorsement and support in his effort to become the next County Executive.”

“I am running for Mercer County Executive to fight for the type of middle class families that the NJ FMBA represents,” Assemblyman Dan Benson said. “That’s why this endorsement means so much to me and my campaign. I look forward to working together with the NJ FMBA and all of our union brothers and sisters to ensure fair wages and the right to collective bargaining not only now, but for generations to come.”
