At 8 PM on October 5, Make Room will be hosting a town hall on LGBTQ+ Rights & the Supreme Court featuring Make Room-endorsed candidates Pat Hackett (Indiana-02), Mia Mason (Maryland-01), Carlos Cardona (New Hampshire Belknap 3), and Nikki Fordey (New Hampshire Hillsborough 20) and moderated by Will Cunningham.
Vineland, NJ – Make Room is proud to be hosting a panel on LGBTQ+ Rights & The Supreme Court on October 5th at 8 PM on Zoom and FaceBook live. As we inch closer to the 2020 general election, Make Room is hyper-focused on ushering in a new wave of progressivism into public office across the country. So many of us are feeling overcome with uncertainty in the aftermath of the death of the great Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Now, with the President’s nomination of Amy Coney Barrett and the impending confirmation process, fundamental legal rights for LGBTQ+ individuals may come to the court for debate. It is time to organize, mobilize, and fight against the confirmation process until the next president is inaugurated.
On this panel, we will hear from congressional candidates Pat Hackett (IN-02) and Mia Mason (MD-01), and NH Statehouse candidates Carlos Cardona (NH Belknap 3) and Nikki Fordey (NH Hillsborough 20). The conversation will be moderated by Former NJ-02 Congressional Candidate Will Cunningham. The panel will discuss how the Supreme Court has and will continue to shape the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. Candidates will speak about their own experiences as LGBTQ+ candidates, how court decisions have affected their lives inside and outside of politics, and the recent Supreme Court nomination.
