Forte Sworn-in on Lawrence Zoning Board of Adjustments
Joe Forte was appointed and sworn-in to fill an unexpired 4-year term on the Zoning Board of Adjustments in Lawrence Township, New Jersey. For the past two years, Forte was serving in an alternate position on the Zoning Board.
Joe holds a Master of Public Administration and a certificate in Strategic Communications, both from Rutgers University. In addition, Mr. Forte has a Master of Science degree from Northeastern University in Global Studies and International Affairs and completed a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. He received his B.A. from Rider University, cum laude, with a certificate in leadership development and an Associate of Arts degree from Raritan Valley Community College.
His recent recognitions include serving as New Jersey’s Co-Event-Chair for U.S. President Joe Biden’s Presidential Inaugural Committee National Day of Service Event in 2021, being awarded Business Equality Magazine’s 2021 40 under 40, 2021 “Rising Star” by the Mercer County Democratic Committee, and New Jersey Governor’s Statewide Employee Recognition Award for Innovation and Efficiency in 2020 and Workplace Excellence in 2019. In addition, Joe was listed on the “Millennials to Watch” list in 2020 and one of the “Top 100 Millennials” in New Jersey Politics in 2019 by InsiderNJ.com. He was also listed in their “N.J.’s LGBT Power List” in 2020, 2019 and 2018 where he was described as a “workhorse,” “diligent,” and a “well-respected political operative.” In 2020, Joe was appointed Co-Chair of LGBTQ+ for Biden/Harris New Jersey and in 2017, Joe served as a GOTV lead for Governor Murphy’s campaign in Somerset County, NJ and has been involved in various federal, state and local campaigns.
In 2021, Joe was elected to serve as President-Elect of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) NJ Chapter. In addition, he is a national member of the Victory Fund Campaign Board, which recruits, trains, and fundraises for LGBTQ candidates running for public office and is Vice-Chair of the New Jersey LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus. Also, Joe is a Mercer County Democratic Committee Member.
