Amid continuous COVID-19 concerns, the Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc. (FOPCP) has announced the cancellation of the 2020 Passaic County Fair.

“While this decision was not made lightly, I believe that it is the right decision for the health and safety for the residents of Passaic County. We will work even harder to make next year’s fair even bigger and better than in the past,” stated Alice Szepietowski, Chair of FOPCP

The county’s annual four-day fair at Garret Mountain Reservation attracts hundreds of people every summer, including residents, visitors, sponsors and vendors. In past years, attendees have enjoyed free admission to the grounds, where they could enjoy fireworks, live entertainment, and purchase carnival rides, games, food and drink, and more. Profits from the event have benefitted the FOPCP in supporting Passaic County parks and historic sites’ management, improvements, and programming. To ensure the safety of residents and staff, the FOPCP and County of Passaic is adhering to Governor Phil Murphy’s state guidelines and precautions on large gatherings.

“I commend the Friends of Passaic County Parks for putting the health of the residents of Passaic County first, from the beginning of this pandemic Passaic County has been a leader and this is another example of how much Passaic County cares,” stated Freeholder Director Sandi Lazzara
