Garden State Equality Welcomes New Deputy Director Brielle Winslow-Majette

Today, Garden State Equality welcomed a new Deputy Director, Brielle Winslow-Majette.

As Deputy Director, Brielle will serve as a key partner to Executive Director Christian Fuscarino and Garden State Equality’s board. In addition to helping develop, implement, and continually refine Garden State Equality’s long-term vision, growth aspirations, and strategic plan, Brielle will also ensure effective day-to-day operations with a portfolio that includes human resources, supervision, program management, and finance.

Brielle is a New Jersey native who joins Garden State Equality following a 10-year career at the South Mountain YMCA in Maplewood. She comes to GSE with years of experience developing training curricula and facilitating trainings across the state of New Jersey, as well as a passion for professional and youth development and creating innovative programs. Brielle attended Howard University and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Seton Hall University.

“We are so excited to bring Brielle on board,” said Garden State Equality Executive Director Christian Fuscarino. “Her extensive experience developing programs that meet community needs–especially for young people–will be invaluable to Garden State Equality as we continue our efforts to ensure lived equality for all LGBTQ+ New Jerseyans.”

“I have always dreamed of working for an organization like Garden State Equality,” said Brielle Winslow-Majette. “I know what it is like to walk into spaces that were not created for me, and I now have the opportunity to continue to shatter glass ceilings for those who are walking in my same shoes while being fully dedicated to cultivating programs and creating opportunities for us, by us.”

Alisha DeLorenzo, who was previously Interim Deputy Director, is now leading Garden State Equality’s adverse childhood experiences work statewide.
