Genova Burns Swears in New Talent in Newark
Genova Burns, the Premiere full service New Jersey Law Firm is proud to bring two new Associates into the ranks. Both Associates were sworn-in at Genova Burns’s Newark offices in November. Amid, friends, family and Genova Burns colleagues, the Associates, Sydney Schubert, Esq., and Katherine Szabo, Esq. were officially admitted into practice.
Both attorneys have been working as Law Clerks for Genova Burns while waiting to become official lawyers. Both Co-Founders Angelo J. Genova and James M. Burns were in attendance for the festivities. “It is wonderful to be a part of young attorneys growth, from the beginning,” said Genova. Burns looks towards the future with new talent saying, “ Bringing on board fresh new talent keeps the Firm moving forward.”
Sydney Schubert is already making a name for herself in the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control area. With recent publications in RE NJ and interviews with various trade publications, she is working diligently to aid New Jersey Businesses with changing ABC laws. Ms. Schubert graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2022 with a formal concentration in Health Law. She attended the University of Colorado Boulder where she completed a 4-year program in 3 years, and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. Attending the swearing-in with Sydney was her father and stepmother as well as her mom and step dad.
Katherine Szabo is focusing her new legal career on commercial litigation, political and election law, and labor and employment. She has already worked on several litigation matters, election law compliance, navigating regulations for cannabis businesses, collective bargaining agreements, arbitration matters, and workplace compliance. Ms. Szabo is already working in both public and private sector matters. She received her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 2022 and her Bachelor of Arts from American University in 2016. Her father was in attendance for the swearing in.
