Gottheimer Calls for House Passage of Bipartisan USMCA

WASHINGTON – Today, Friday, December 13, 2019, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) called for House passage of the bipartisan free trade deal, the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA):

“I commend everyone involved in reaching this bipartisan deal on USMCA, including my colleagues in Congress, the White House, the U.S. Trade Representative, labor groups, American workers, farmers, and businesses. This deal will be an incredible boost for jobs across the United States and will bring our trade relationships with Mexico and Canada into the modern era. To finally get this deal across the finish line, I am urging congressional leadership swiftly bring USMCA to the floor for a vote this month.”

The bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, which Gottheimer co-chairs, has previously called for both sides of the aisle to find a way to unite together behind passage of USMCA. Gottheimer and fellow Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chair Tom Reed (NY-23) most recently applauded a deal being reached on USMCA.
