Gottheimer Celebrates Pastor Lester W. Taylor’s 25 Years of Leading the North Jersey Community

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. – On Sunday, May 20, 2018, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) spoke in honor of Pastor Lester W. Taylor’s twenty-five years of preaching at the Community Baptist Church of Englewood. Gottheimer presented Pastor Taylor with a Congressional Certificate of Recognition for his service as Senior Pastor of the Community Baptist Church, President of the General Baptist Convention of New Jersey, and spiritual leader for countless North Jersey families.

“I was proud to honor Pastor Lester Taylor for his 25 years of incredible service—of leading, of preaching, and of moving our broader community. All throughout North Jersey, everyone knows who he is because he has touched so many lives,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Pastor Taylor has spent 25 years answering the call of Luke 9:2, of proclaiming the kingdom of God and performing healing. Under his leadership, the Community Baptist Church has grown into a thriving, active ministry of more than 4,000 members, and had to build a new church to accommodate its growth. Pastor Taylor is a shining example of how to teach, and to lead, and to love, and to heal. In times like these, we need that now more than ever. I know that I am working to lead the way Pastor Taylor has led, and I am grateful for his example. We in Bergen County are blessed to have someone like Pastor Taylor to care for us.”
