Gottheimer Visits Tilcon Quarry in Pompton Lakes

POMPTON LAKES, NJ — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited Tilcon’s quarry in Pompton Lakes to highlight a local businesses key to fixing Jersey’s roads and highways as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill. New Jersey is clawing back more than $8 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill to fix New Jersey’s roads, highways, and bridges.

Tilcon employs more than 700 people across nineteen operating locations in the tri-state area. The firm operates quarries, asphalt plants, recycling facilities, and road paving, essential services that help fix America’s roads.

Nearly twenty percent of Jersey’s bridges are in dire need of repair, including one in four bridges in Bergen County. Moreover, in July 2023, a report found that more than half of New Jersey’s major roads are in “poor or mediocre condition.”

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, which Gottheimer helped craft, pass, and negotiate, will deliver more than $8 billion to help fix these roads and bridges — with the support of private sector companies like Tilcon.

Companies like Tilcon are key to our economy and partners in our once-in-a-generation infrastructure investment, made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “With this federal investment, we will help fix the more than 500 bridges and nearly 4,000 miles of roads in poor condition here in Jersey — all without increasing the tax burden on North Jersey residents.
