Governor Murphy Endorses Executive Board Candidate Slate for Morris County Democratic Committee
Governor Endorses Amalia Duarte as Chair, Mike DeLamater as Vice Chair
TRENTON — Governor Phil Murphy today endorsed a new Executive Board candidate slate to lead the Morris County Democratic Committee, including Mendham Township Committeewoman Amalia Duarte to serve as Chair, Morristown resident Mike DeLamater as Vice Chair, Darcy Draegar as Secretary, Michael Thompson as Treasurer, and Cara Parmigiani as Sergeant-at-Arms.
“I’m thrilled to endorse Amalia Duarte to serve as the next Chair of the Morris County Democratic Committee,” said Governor Murphy. “Amalia is a longtime community leader and township committeewoman who brings an unmatched set of knowledge, experience, and vision to one of the most important county leadership roles in our party. She has earned a reputation as a consensus builder who brings people together and is willing to do the hard work necessary to help Democrats win in challenging environments. As the first woman and first Latina to lead the Morris County Democratic Committee, Amalia is the right choice to turn Morris County blue.”
“Today I’m also endorsing Mike DeLamater as MCDC Vice Chair, Darcy Draegar as Secretary, Michael Thompson as Treasurer, and Cara Parmigiani as Sergeant-at-Arms. A resident of Morristown, Mike has served as one of my key political advisors for many years and has an impressive understanding of what it takes to win in diverse communities all across our state,” continued Governor Murphy. “Together with the expanded executive board advisory group that brings a wealth of knowledge on running campaigns and grassroots organizing, I know this team will bring new energy and leadership to the Morris County Democratic Committee and help Democrats win up and down the ballot this November and beyond.”
MCDC members will have an opportunity to vote on new leadership at a special meeting during the week of May 9. Governor Murphy joins Representatives Sherrill and Malinowski in endorsing Amalia Duarte to serve as Chair.
