Governor Murphy, Mayor Davis to Announce Grant Funding for Newark Bay Waterfront Walkway and Park on Friday

BAYONNE, NJ — Mayor Jimmy Davis will be joined by Governor Phil Murphy along with Senator Sandra Cunningham (D-31) and Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti (D-31) in Bayonne on Friday at 2:00 p.m. to announce  $1 million in state funding that will be used to build a new waterfront walkway and public park along Newark Bay near Don Ahern Veterans Memorial Stadium. The funding is evenly supplied by a grant from Green Acres and settlement funds from the Passaic River pollution lawsuits. The announcement will complement significant progress made by the Davis administration in restoring Bayonne’s public parks and recreation facilities in recent years and continue the Mayor’s goal of revitalizing the city’s green spaces.
