Governor Murphy Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright

03/24/2022
TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today ordered that U.S. and New Jersey flags remain at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities until Sunday, March 27, 2022, to honor the passing of Secretary Madeleine Albright, the first woman to serve as U.S. Secretary of State.

“Secretary Madeleine Albright was a mentor and friend who represented our nation before the world with strength, intelligence, and humor,” said Governor Murphy. “Her advice guided presidents. Her example guided her successors as Secretary of State. Her conscience will guide our ongoing fight against tyrants and oppression around the globe. It is with a heavy heart that we mourn her passing as we recognize her unparalleled life and enduring legacy.”
