Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center Hosted Third Annual Celebration of Life Event
(Old Bridge, NJ – November 4, 2019) – Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center hosted its third annual Celebration of Life event Saturday, October 19 at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge. This special event is held each year to honor the life of each patient.
Since its inception in 2017, this event has grown in size with nearly 125 participants. The growth each year is a powerful testimony to the important meaning this event has on patients, families and care teams.
“The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Critical Care Unit (CCU) teams see first-hand the remarkable strength and extraordinary courage of our patients and their families each day,” said Thomas Shanahan, chief hospital executive, Raritan Bay Medical Center. “The Celebration of Life event is a remarkable and beautiful day designed to connect the care team to their purpose to making a difference in the lives of others.”
Each year, patients and families attend this event to reconnect with these amazing care providers and extend their heartfelt gratitude. The event connects both Old Bridge and Perth Amboy to celebrate together. This year’s event included a live band, musical performances, inspirational speakers, patient and family stories and a candle ceremony in remembrance of all lives cared for in Raritan Bay Medical Center ICU/CCU units over the past year.
