Additional Funds are Needed to Keep This Initiative Growing

Hackettstown, N.J., April 6, 2020 – The Hackettstown Rotary Foundation and FLAG (Front Line Appreciation Group) of Hackettstown have partnered to provide meals for healthcare staff at Hackettstown Medical Center during this challenging time amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.  This initiative has been promoted by WRNJ radio, and, in the first week alone, over $17,000 was been raised to purchase scheduled deliveries of 100+ individual meals daily for hospital staff from area restaurants.

“Since frontline caregivers and area restaurants both need support at this time, this is a win/win for our community,” said Kristin Abromitis Jacobs, organizer of the Hackettstown chapter of FLAG.

Over 500 meals were delivered in the first week, and an additional 800 future meals are already scheduled for delivery.  Please help keep this initiative going by donating via hackettstownrotary.org.

“This is such a wonderful initiative and a great way to thank those who are serving on the frontlines during this pandemic,” says Laurie Rapisardi, President of The Hackettstown Rotary Club.   “I want to thank all of our community members who have shown much-needed support and brought some cheer to our medical workers at this uncertain time.”

About Hackettstown Rotary Club

The 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

Becoming a Rotarian connects people with a diverse group of professionals who share a drive to give back.  The Hackettstown Rotary Club meets weekly and discusses ways and creates programs to better the community

About FLAG

The goal of FLAG of Hackettstown is to rally the community together to support local restaurants while expressing gratitude by helping fuel the hardworking frontline healthcare workers in the community.
