Hillsborough Democratic Organization: Councilwoman Holmes Resigns

“It is with a sense of deep regret that I have been informed that Committeewomen Olivia Holmes has, due to personal considerations, resigned her position on the Hillsborough Township Committee” stated Bill Dondiego, Chair of the Hillsborough Democratic Organization.

Ms. Holmes announced her decision and informed the Hillsborough Township Democratic Municipal Committee and the Hillsborough Township Committee on February 4th, effective immediately.

The Hillsborough Democratic Municipal Committee has 15 days to provide, to the remaining members of the Hillsborough Township Committee, the names of 3 Democrats to fill the vacancy on the Hillsborough Township Committee. The remaining members of the Township Committee have 30 days to choose among those whose names were submitted to serve until the next general election.

“First and foremost, I want to thank Committeewoman Holmes for her service on the Committee and wish her the best.” continued Dondiego.

“We are committed to ensuring the individuals we propose will be most qualified to serve all the residents of Hillsborough for at least the remainder of 2021,” stated Dondiego. We have already begun the process as required by law.”

The Hillsborough Democrats are also in the process of identifying candidates to run in the November election.
“All of the individuals we propose to fill this vacancy will be able to hit the ground running to serve on the Township Committee, and therefore will also be highly qualified to run in November. We are excited to be putting together a great team of Democrats that will work hard in the upcoming campaign and win two seats on the Township Committee,” stated Dondiego.
