At a recent Hillsborough Township Republican meeting, Dr. Robert Britting was selected by acclimation to run in the republican primary this June.  Britting, who has served on the Sustainable Hillsborough Steering Commission and serves on the Hillsborough Environmental Commission and the Hillsborough Board of Adjustment brings a deep understanding of government and private sector experience.

“Hillsborough township is lucky to have a strong, proven leader like Bob Britting running for office this year,” stated Hillsborough Republican Chairman and Former Hillsborough Mayor and County Freeholder Ken Scherer. “Bob is a business leader that brings an expertise with handling large budgets and management to the table.

As a resident of Hillsborough, Britting resides on Michelle Lane with his wife Kelly and three sons, Robert (Robbie), Christian and Grayson.  Britting works as a senior business executive in the pharmaceutical industry and has worked in the industry for 22 years. He obtained his Master’s degree in business from LaSalle University and a doctorate in Organizational Management, with a research focus on human behavior and micro/macroeconomics from Walden University.

“I’m honored to receive my party’s endorsement,” Britting said. “Hillsborough has evolved over the past few years and the decisions we make now will greatly impact our future. As a husband, father, soccer and baseball coach of three young children my family has made a commitment to this community and we absolutely love our town.

Committeeman Frank DelCore who declined to seek reelection after serving 15 years on the township committee noted “Bob is exactly the candidate Hillsborough needs to continue the hardwork and fiscal responsibility that the community expects from our Republican led township committee.” Frank added “Although I will miss representing our town, I know handing over the Fiscal Watchdog title to Bob will keep us in good hands for years to come.”

Dr. Britting concluded “My wife and children are my world. As a resident and friend to many people in Hillsborough, our collective children’s future is of the highest priority. I also hold dear our senior community, as they deserve the best service and respect from the town they have lived in for so many years. I look forward to fighting for all the people of Hillsborough and will aggressively pursue low municipal taxes, hyper-focus on our infrastructure, fight to maintain our extensive amount of open space, enhance the community services for our residents and will look for ways to help bridge the wonderful diversity that makes up our town. In the end, as a father and husband, I am running to serve my neighbors and my family, and to make my children proud of their Dad.”
