Hillsborough’s Retired Republican Police Chief Endorses Somerset County Sheriff Darrin Russo for Reelection

Despite Managing GOP Candidate with the Hillsborough Police, Chief Crosses Party Lines for the “Safety for Our County Residents”

Hillsborough, NJ – Retired Hillsborough Police Chief Paul Kaminsky, a lifelong Republican, crossed party lines to endorse the reelection of Democrat Darrin Russo as Somerset County Sheriff. Chief Kaminsky supervised Republican candidate John Sheridan at the Hillsborough Police Department, and despite being in the same political party endorsed Sheriff Russo for reelection.

“Sheriff Darrin Russo has proven that he has the ideas, experience, and vision to keep Somerset safe,” said Chief Kaminsky. “To me, this election isn’t about a political party, it’s about safety for our county residents and those who visit it.”

Sheridan specifically mentioned Sheriff Russo’s increasing the diversity of the Sheriff’s Office to more accurately reflect the community they serve, programs such as the new Hate Crime Awareness and Prevention Unit, and the Chaplain’s Program to build relationships with local houses of worship and their constituencies.

“I’m proud to receive the endorsement of Chief Kaminsky, a proven leader in law enforcement, for reelection as Sheriff of Somerset County,” said Sheriff Russo. “The relationships I’ve built with local police, local religious leaders, and local communities are paying off for the safety of Somerset County residents, and I’m honored Chief Kaminsky endorses the continuation of these policies.”

“As a Hillsborough resident and leader in law enforcement, I’m asking you to return your vote by mail ballot or join me in voting column 2 and support Darrin Russo for re-election as Somerset County Sheriff,” said Chief Kaminsky.
