THE HOBOKEN BUSINESS ALLIANCE PILOTS “SUMMER STREETS” AS PART OF ITS #GOBOKEN SUMMER 2020 CAMPAIGN

HOBOKEN, NJ, (Tuesday, June 23, 2020) – The Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA) announced today its pilot of “Summer Streets” to further attract and engage residents and visitors to shop, eat, and enjoy the Mile Square. The pilot is part of #GoBoken, the HBA’s city-wide, summer-long initiative encouraging the community to go now and help support Hoboken businesses in any way they can.

“Summer Streets” presented by the Hoboken Business Alliance will take place on Sunday, June 28 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. down 1st Street in Hoboken. The street will be open to pedestrian traffic only from Washington Street to Clinton Street. Everyone is encouraged to explore and support the diverse mix of shops, stores, and restaurants in the 1st Street neighborhood while adhering to social distancing and mask guidelines to stay safe. Tables will be set up throughout the street where local restaurants can take orders and serve guests, and many shops will have items on display outside available for purchase.

“These are challenging times for small businesses and it’s critical that we continue to find ways to support the local Hoboken community,” says Gregory Dell’Aquila, President of the Hoboken Business Alliance. “With Summer Streets, the Hoboken Business Alliance is creating new opportunities for businesses to expand their footprint and connect with customers in a safe and meaningful way.”

Following the pilot event on June 28, the HBA plans to extend Summer Streets throughout the Mile Square neighborhood over the next eight weeks.
