Hoboken Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher Endorses Rob Menendez Jr. for Re-Election to Congress and Andy Kim for U.S. Senate

Fisher believes Hoboken Democratic Primary Voters Want to See Victory for Rob and Andy.

Hoboken, NJ.  March 26, 2024:  Hoboken City Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher proudly endorses Congressman Rob Menendez for re-election and Congressman Andy Kim for U.S. Senate.

“Every primary voter I’ve talked with wants Rob Menendez and Andy Kim – dedicated public servants who will fight tirelessly for the people of Hoboken and New Jersey,” says Fisher. “Their proven leadership as Congressmen and their commitment to delivering results make them the best choice to represent Hoboken in the House and the Senate.”

“Endorsing Rob for re-election is an easy decision for me. Since our first meeting two years ago, I have been consistently impressed by his expertise and relentless advocacy on crucial issues like affordability, healthcare, reproductive freedom, and homelessness,” says Fisher.  “Rob’s unwavering commitment to democratic values, serving constituents, and securing federal resources for our district is commendable. What sets Rob apart is his accessibility and willingness to engage in open dialogue, always seeking ways to help residents of Hoboken.”

Already, in his first term in office, Rob has held leadership roles and introduced and supported several significant bills and initiatives on critical issues including job training for veterans, the deduction of state and local taxes, funding for anti-terrorism programs, homelessness assistance and addressing the needs of working families. He has also secured billions of dollars for transformative transportation and infrastructure projects, environmental justice initiatives, policing services, and youth empowerment programs.

“Rob has been a strong voice for New Jersey and Americans in Washington,” continues Fisher. “His long list of accomplishments combined with his direct engagement with residents, intelligent decision-making, and advocacy for underserved communities to me highlight a representative who prioritizes action over rhetoric and distinguishes him as a leader dedicated to serving people.”

I have supported Congressman Kim since he first ran for Congress in 2018 when he beat a two-term congressman in New Jersey’s 3rd District and I am proud to have this support continue as he runs for Senate to represent all of New Jersey,” says Councilwoman Fisher.  “As our democracy comes under assault, Andy’s is a critical voice in America.”

Rep. Kim, a veteran and lifelong public servant, successfully won election in a district with a significant Republican base.  In Congress, he has fought for universal healthcare, protecting our environment, defending reproductive rights for women, supporting veterans and military families, and ending corruption in government.  And in New Jersey, he is leading the fight on ballot reform.

“Andy is the right candidate to capture the hearts of New Jersey and win in November.  He forges genuine connections with constituents, ensuring they feel listened to and valued.” says Fisher.  “I wholeheartedly support his campaign to be our next U.S. Senator.”

Councilwoman Fisher has publicly advocated against the County Line system for years.  Despite the process, she prioritizes endorsing the best candidate for the job, reflecting her commitment to effective leadership, and advocating for electoral reforms.

Tiffanie has been a resident of Hoboken for 30 years and was re-elected to her third term in November 2023.  She is the former Chair of the Hoboken Democratic Committee, founder of the Hoboken Business Alliance and co-founder of Hoboken’s American Legion Auxiliary. She retired from a 23 year career in investment banking and commercial real estate finance and makes public service her full time job.
