Hoboken Police Benevolent and Superior Officers Associations Endorse Ravi Bhalla and Katie Brennan for State Assembly

Hoboken- The Hoboken Police Benevolent and Superior Officers Associations today announced its endorsements of Ravi Bhalla and Katie Brennan in the Democratic Primary in the 32nd legislative district.

“We know first-hand how committed Mayor Bhalla is to public safety and to putting in place the policies that bring it about.” said Patrolman Andrew Perez, president of the Hoboken Police Benevolent Association (PBA). “Katie Brennan’s expertise on and effective advocacy for affordable housing is exactly what we need to make it possible for police officers to live in the communities where they work. We can count on Ravi Bhalla and Katie Brennan to be champions of public safety in Trenton.”

“I entered the Hoboken Police Superior Union in 2016 and since then worked closely with Mayor Ravi Bhalla and his team”, said Lieutenant Jonathan Mecka, president of the Hoboken Police Superior Officers Association (PSOA). “His support and vision for public safety has never been in question! We look forward to seeing him excel as a New Jersey State Assembly person representing our district”

Mecka continued, “Katie Brennan understands that when police officers and other city workers have affordable housing options, enabling them to live in the communities they serve, it increases the community bonds and ties that promote better service delivery.  Ravi Bhalla and Katie Brennan will fight in Trenton for the policies that will keep New Jerseyans safe.”

She has worked in leadership roles at state and local housing agencies in New Jersey and New York, helped secure historic funding for affordable housing in New Jersey, and has successfully advocated for stronger protections for tenants and survivors of sexual assault.

The Democratic primary for State Assembly is June 10. The 32nd legislative district includes Hoboken and most of Jersey City.
