Holley Accepts Court’s Decision in Roselle Recount
The Holley Campaign has reviewed the decision of the Union County Superior Court denying its request for a recount. Although the Campaign is disappointed by the decision, which fails to provide a remedy for the many irregularities that cast doubt upon the results of the election, Holley, as a former lawmaker, accepts the Court’s decision. The Holley Campaign regrets that many voters rightfully feel disenfranchised by the result of the election, due in large part to inconsistent information provided by the County Clerk’s office, incorrect ballots sent to vote-by-mail voters, and the fact fewer votes separated the candidates than were reflected as disqualified or not counted by the election officials. Notwithstanding the court decision and official election results, Jamel C. Holley vows to continue to be a voice for the people of the Borough of Roselle and to remain engaged in public service.
