Holt-Soloway Seek Re-election
Hunterdon County Commissioners Matt Holt and Susan J. Soloway have filed petitions to seek re-election with the endorsement of the Hunterdon County Republican Committee, on a platform of protecting both the taxpayers and Hunterdon County’s special quality of life.
Commissioner Holt, a former Mayor of Clinton, who has served on the County Board since 2007, stated, “Hunterdon County has been recognized as the best County in America to raise children. This did not happen by accident, but instead through the Board’s long held strategy of holding taxes down, while preserving land, the county’s agricultural heritage, and a special way of life.”
Commissioner Soloway, a former Mayor of Franklin, who serves as the Board’s Director this year, said, “Our conservative fiscal philosophy pays dividends for the taxpayers. I am proud of the fact that the county tax rate has remained frozen throughout my entire term on the Board.
As I have stated many times before, I believe tax dollars are precious and must be used effectively, efficiently and sparingly.”
Holt and Soloway will seek re-election alongside long time and popular Hunterdon County Clerk Mary Melfi.
County Republican Chairman Gabe Plumer, following the filing of the nominating petitions, stated, “This is a strong Republican team of county officeholders with a proven record of leadership, competence, and putting and keeping Hunterdon County first. Re-electing Melfi, Holt and Soloway will help to keep Hunterdon County a great place to live.”
