Howell Resident Joins Race For New Jersey State Assembly in LD30

Howell Township, NJ: Matt Filosa has announced his candidacy for New Jersey State Assembly in
Legislative District 30. Filosa, a Howell Township resident and Monmouth University junior, has been
an active and dedicated community volunteer for many years. His dedication to community service
was formed as a member of the Boy Scouts in Howell Township where he earned his Eagle Scout, the
highest honor for Boy Scouts, with a service project at the Coast Guard Station in Avon. Filosa was also
an active member of the ROTC program at Colts Neck High School. Since graduating from Colts Neck,
Filosa has been a member of the Monmouth University Debate Team, a writer for the university
newspaper, and a volunteer debate coach for Long Branch elementary students. Filosa was recently
appointed to the Farmer Advisory Committee in Howell Township.

Filosa has lived in LD30 for his entire life and he has witnessed firsthand the lack of leadership and
support from the current elected leaders. Filosa believes that continuing to elect the same failed
leaders results just brings the same failed results. The time is now for new leaders in LD30 that focus:

● Jobs- Many industries in LD30 are disappearing and new leaders with new ideas will be
needed to find a solution.

● Education- We must work with education professionals to shape the future of education. Our
teachers must have a seat at the table when decisions are made.

● Infrastructure- Travel and shore tourism businesses rely on our infrastructure for their
success. Protecting our environment through a focus on funding renewable energy protects
our economy.

● Taxes- Reducing taxes for the hard working residents of LD30 is the economic driver our small
business owners need. Reducing taxes puts more money back into the local economy.
