HUDSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE CRAIG GUY REMINDS RESIDENTS OF JANUARY 31, 2025 DEADLINE FOR 2026 HUDSON COUNTY SPORTS HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS

County Executive Guy urges residents from all 12 municipalities to apply before the deadline

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County residents are reminded that the deadline to submit nominations for the 2026 Hudson County Sports Hall of Fame is January 31, 2025.

“Our athletes inspire us all. From the fields and courts of Hudson County to the world stage, their dedication brings our communities together. We encourage residents to submit nominations for the Hudson County Sports Hall of Fame by January 31, 2025 for themselves, family members, friends, or coaches and help celebrate the incredible achievements happening right here at home,” said Hudson County Executive Craig Guy.

Founded in 1991, the Hall of Fame honors Hudson County men and women who have dedicated countless hours to perfecting their athletic skills and have gone on to compete at the highest levels, including the Olympic Trials, Boxing World Championships, the National Football League, (NFL) and the National Basketball Association. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony occurs every two years, with the next event scheduled for Fall of 2026.

The 2024 Hudson County Sports Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony took place on October 2, 2024, at Saint Peter’s University Duncan Family Sky Room. The 2024 inductees included men’s college basketball coaches Danny and Bobby Hurley and former NFL player Kenny Britt.

Nominees must have a minimum of two years of experience in Hudson County during grades 9 through 12 and are asked to provide their title, biography, remarks, headshots, and athletic accomplishments in Hudson County high school, college or university, and any professional experience. One of the following documents is requested for each accomplishment: photocopies of newspaper articles, certificates, yearbooks, annual awards, dinner programs, or congratulatory letters.
