Hudson County GOP Endorses Democratic Incumbent Sheriff Frank Schillari

HUDSON COUNTY, N.J. — Hudson County Sheriff Frank X. Schillari is proud to have the support of both the Democratic and Republican parties in the November 5 election. The Hudson County Republican party this morning pulled its support for their candidate, Adela Rohena, after she made scathing and derogatory comments about the LGBTQ community at a Jersey City Board of Education meeting. Rohena has since withdrawn from the race.

“As one of the most diverse places to live in the entire nation, it is crucial that the people of Hudson County are represented by leaders who fight for equality and justice,” said Hudson County Sheriff Frank X. Schillari. “Hate has no home in our community, and I am proud to be a Sheriff for everyone who calls Hudson County home. I would like to thank Hudson County Republican Chairman Jose Arango for his support. I’m proud to receive the endorsement of the Hudson GOP and look forward to continuing to make our county safer each and every day.”

Sheriff Schillari, whose highly decorated law enforcement career spans over four decades long is seeking re-election for Hudson County Sheriff this November having served as Sheriff since 2011. Schillari is a Navy Veteran and a lifelong Hudson County resident.
