Hugin Declares Victory In Primary

Mountainside, NJ – In front of a crowd of several hundred people, U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin thanked his family, voters and supporters, claiming victory in Tuesday’s New Jersey primary.
Tonight, was a major step forward for our campaign and for New Jersey. But make no mistake – this is just the beginning.  Our goal is victory in November and once again giving New Jersey a Senator it can be proud of,” said Hugin.

Hugin, 63, framed the race as an opportunity for New Jersey voters to replace a corrupt, ineffective career politician like Bob Menendez, with a successful job-creating business leader and former Marine who will work with people in both parties to do what is best for the state above all else.

“In the Marines, it’s not about Democrats or Republicans, it’s about working together. Frankly, that’s what we need more of in Congress, and that’s the kind of Senator I will be for New Jersey  an independent voice who always puts our state and our people first. No exceptions. I am pro-choice, pro-marriage equality, and I strongly support equal pay for equal work.  I believe we – as a party and as a country – need to fix our immigration system in a comprehensive and compassionate way,” said Hugin.

Bob Hugin, a Marine Corps Veteran and business leader who has created thousands of New Jersey jobs, is seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate to challenge incumbent Democrat Senator Bob Menendez.
