on Congressman Tom Malinowski Alleged Illegal Actions
Flemington, NJ – Hunterdon County Republican Committee Chairman Gabe Plumer released the following statement as allegations continue to grow over Congressman Tom Malinowski unethical and likely illegal actions in relation to his day trading habit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“While Congressman Malinowski was supposed to be working on behalf of the hard-working constituents of the 7th Congressional District, as Hunterdon County struggled through the pandemic, he was instead profiting from our pain,” said Chairman Plumer.
Plumer continued, “Malinowski hid his stock transactions and broke the law trying to cover up the financial gains he made from selling out American companies during the pandemic for his own financial gain. After barely being re-elected last year he is now trying to deceive the voters while criticizing others for the same thing. His hypocrisy is truly disgraceful.”
Members of Congress, under the 2012 Stock Act, are barred from using inside information to make investments. The law requires lawmakers to report all stock trades to Congress within 45 days.
“The Hunterdon County Republican Organization is committed to making sure Malinowski doesn’t fool voters into believing this was an error of misplaced paperwork. The Congressman has an established record of prioritizing himself over his public service responsibilities. Hunterdon County deserves a representative who they can look in the eyes and trust he will have their backs in Washington D.C. Tom Malinowski is clearly not that person,” concluded Plumer.
