IFPTE Local 194 Endorses Mikie Sherrill for Governor
BLOOMFIELD — Today, the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) Local 194 announced that they are endorsing Mikie Sherrill to be the next Governor of New Jersey. IFPTE Local 194 represents over 1,000 New Jersey Turnpike employees across the state.

“IFPTE Local 194 is proud to endorse Mikie Sherrill because she’s committed to standing up for working families, and she is ready to make bold investments in New Jersey’s aging transportation and infrastructure systems. As the granddaughter of a union worker, Mikie knows that unions are critical to building opportunities for New Jerseyans. She will be a partner in our fight to protect our collective bargaining rights, ensure that the folks who keep the New Jersey Turnpike running have fair wages and good working conditions, and fully fund our state’s pension system. Mikie is the ‘Tunnel Obsessed Congresswoman’ who funded Gateway and when we elect her to lead our state, she’ll be an infrastructure-focused governor — with a clear plan to invest in our roads, tunnels, and bridges, and fix our broken public transportation system with transit-oriented development. IFPTE Local 194 encourages all New Jerseyans to get out and cast their ballots for Mikie this Tuesday, June 10,” said IFPTE Local 194 President Barry Kushnir.

“Unions built New Jersey and continue to create opportunities for middle-class families to thrive here in the Garden State. I am proud to earn the support of the working men and women who keep our Turnpike safe and running day in and day out. I look forward to working together to make bold investments in our public transportation systems, fix our aging infrastructure, and ensure that working families have a fair shot,” said Mikie Sherrill.

IFPTE Local 194 joins other major unions backing Mikie Sherrill, including  LIUNA, FMBA, and NAGE.

IFPTE Local 194 is a public sector union representing approximately 1,000 employees of the New Jersey Turnpike in the Maintenance, Tolls and Office and Clerical and Technical bargaining units. Local 194 is also affiliated with the New Jersey State AFL-CIO and the AFL-CIO.
