International Brotherhood of Teamsters Endorses Brendan Gill for Congress
Montclair, NJ — Today, Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill, candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, announced the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, one of the nation’s largest and most influential labor unions, representing thousands of workers across New Jersey.
The Teamsters cited Gill’s deep labor roots, decades of community leadership, and consistent support for collective bargaining, workplace safety, and fair wages.
“Brendan Gill understands that the people who keep our communities running deserve respect, fair pay, and safe working conditions,” said Al Rispoli, President of Teamsters Joint Council 73. “From the drivers who deliver goods to our neighborhoods, to warehouse workers, municipal employees, and skilled tradespeople, these workers are the backbone of New Jersey’s economy. At a time when workers face attacks on their rights, rising costs of living, and growing economic pressures, we need leaders in Congress who will stand with labor. Brendan Gill has consistently shown that he will be that kind of leader—someone who listens to workers, fights for strong union protections, and ensures that the people who do the hard work in our communities are not left behind.”
“The Teamsters are essential to keeping New Jersey moving and our economy thriving,” said Brendan Gill. “I understand firsthand that strong union jobs mean more than a paycheck—they mean safe workplaces, dignity on the job, and opportunities for families to get ahead. Strong union jobs are the foundation of a thriving middle class, and I will work to make sure that hardworking people have the opportunity to get ahead, support their families, and build a more secure future. Together, we can strengthen our communities, grow the middle class, and ensure that the contributions of every worker are recognized, valued, and rewarded.”
