TRENTON – On Friday, July 1, 2022, Jenna Figueroa Kettenburg exceeded the petition threshold to become the first, official candidate for Trenton South Ward City Council.

Figueroa Kettenburg collected petitions from voters in all nine election districts and will continue collecting petitions until the September 6 petition filing deadline for Municipal Non-Partisan Candidates to be voted at the November General Election on Tuesday, November 8. The September 6 date was established through Title 40.

N.J.S.A. Title 40:45-8: On or before the 64 day prior to a regular municipal election, the names of candidates for all elective offices shall be filed with the municipal clerk, in the following manner and form and subject to the following conditions: The petition of nomination shall consist of individual certificates, equal in number to at least 1%, but in no event less than 25, of the registered voters of the municipality or the ward.

“I will continue to gather additional petition signatures because I want to meet every voter in the South Ward,” said the first, official South Ward City Council candidate, Jenna Figueroa Kettenburg.

Figueroa Kettenburg and has garnered the most attention and support from community, faith, and labor leaders.

Jenna Figueroa Kettenburg is a life-long resident of Trenton’s South Ward.
